The Maldives is a year-round destination with warm tropical weather.

The best weather is usually from November to April, while May to October can have occasional rain but great marine life and fewer crowds.

Lonu Trips offers a variety of experiences including:

  • Local island stays
  • Island hopping adventures
  • Snorkeling trips
  • Liveaboard stays
  • Sandbank picnics
  • Resort stays
  • Custom travel experiences

Each trip is designed to give travelers an authentic Maldivian island experience.

Trip prices can vary depending on group size, season, accommodation, and transportation options.

For this reason, we provide custom quotes to ensure you receive the best possible experience and value.

No. Bringing alcohol into the Maldives is not allowed, and it will be confiscated at the airport upon arrival.

Alcohol is not permitted on local islands in the Maldives. However, alcohol is available at resort islands and liveaboard boats. Some local islands may also arrange excursions to nearby resorts where guests can enjoy alcoholic beverages.

Bikinis are usually only allowed in designated “bikini beaches” on local islands. These beaches are specifically set aside for tourists where swimwear is acceptable.

The local currency is the Maldivian Rufiyaa (MVR). However, US dollars are widely accepted in most guesthouses, restaurants, and tourist services.

Tourists from all countries receive a free 30-day tourist visa on arrival when entering the Maldives, as long as they have a valid passport, return ticket, and confirmed accommodation.
